Birmingham International Airport (airport code BHX) lies roughly eight miles from Birmingham's city centre in the borough of Solihull. After four of London's international airports and Manchester Airport, Birmingham is the sixth busiest airport in the UK. It serves not only the city of Birmingham but the entire West Midlands region. The airport is conveniently located one mile from junction 6 of the M42 motorway.

The Birmingham Airport has recently added a new food court to complement the existing restaurants and bars already in the airport. One of the new restaurants is a New York/Italian theme restaurant called Frankie and Benny's, but the usual suspects are also present as well. You will also find the basic airport shops, including Boots and WH Smith, alongside more interesting spots like Serendipity Games and the La Senza lingerie shop.
