London Luton Airport (airport code LTN) is the fourth busiest airport serving London, although it is approximately 30 miles north of the city. The airport is, however, a short two miles from junction 10a of the M1 motorway, so it is easily accessible. Still, the distance from London together with high hotel prices and a lack of early morning transport means that many passengers choose to spend the night in the airport itself. Doing this is reasonably safe, but the more comfortable areas in which to sleep tend to be snapped up quickly.
