Cheap Flights to Dublin

Dublin is a wickedly popular destination for a city break, and the biggest drawback might be that it is also dreadfully expensive. Saving money on your flight, then, is a good place to start your holiday planning.

Dublin Airport (airport code DUB) is the busiest airport in all Ireland, and sits roughly six miles from Dublin city centre. It is the home airport for Ireland's national carrier, Aer Lingus, and also for one of Europe's budget giants, Ryanair. CityJet is also based nearby. Due to the proximity of Ireland, flights from the UK are plentiful - which is good news for you! The route between Dublin and London is, in fact, the second busiest in the entire world. Dublin Airport is served by each of London's five airports - Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City. In addition to London, Flybe operates routes from Exeter, Jersey, Norwich and Southampton; and Ryanair flies from several UK cities, including Birmingham, Blackpool, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Nottingham. There is an interactive map on the Dublin airport website here where you can see all the destinations served from Dublin, and also find flights to Dublin from the airports near you. (For a list of airlines with a bit less flash, go to this page.)

To help you get around Dublin Airport, there is an airport map here, and if you are overcome by sudden hunger or the urge to buy something, the airport has you taken care of. Dining options are listed here, and the airport shops are here. Other airport services are listed here, including WiFi access and the airport's left luggage facility.

Getting into Dublin (or elsewhere in Ireland) from the airport is easy with the many choices for ground transport. While there is no rail line linking Dublin Airport to the city centre at this point, a new Metro line is currently under development which would make the journey between the airport and St Stephen's Green as short as 17 minutes. Until that is a reality, however, you need to look elsewhere for your transport needs. There are a number of bus and coach companies serving the airport, and you can browse the list of them here. Additionally, there are taxis for hire (learn more here) and you can always hire your own car. The agencies serving the airport are listed here.

Have an excellent holiday in Dublin, and be sure to check our Ireland Travel Guide for an on-the-ground guide for things to do around Ireland. Raise a pint of Guinness for us, too!
